Same Care for One Another

18.  “Same Care for One Another”

My goal for today is to “have the same care for one another”

God’s Word declares: (1 Corinthians 12:23-25)  “And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

“He did this to make all parts of the body work together smoothly, with each part caring about the others.”  (Contemporary English Version)

“So that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.”  (1 Corinthians 12:25) (NIV)

“The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don't, the parts we see and the parts we don't. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance.” (The Message v. 25-26)

The context of this is about the Church as the Bod of Christ.  Every part is important.  We should have the same care for each other, as we do for the different parts of our own body.

One way to start caring for others is to “read their story.”  Look what was created by Chick-fil-A

My choosing to “to care for one another” will enable me to fulfill the law of Christ, the “new commandment” of the “new covenant” in which Jesus stated, “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.”
