Read through the Psalms and Proverbs every month

Why Proverbs?

            This is God’s wisdom manual.  

            Proverbs 2

Take the challenge:  follow this plan for a few months.

Read the chapter in Proverbs that corresponds to the DAY of the MONTH.

i.e.  Today is the 7th of the month

Then read the Psalms that corresponds to the DAY of the MONTH.

Then 30 + 30 + 30 + 30

Huh?

Today read      Psalm  7

                                37

                                67

                                97

                              127

So, you will read Psalm 7,  37, 67, 97, 127 and Proverbs 7.

When you follow this plan, you can read through both books in a month.

I like this pattern because all you have to do is remember what day it is!  Makes it very easy.

(Some people read on day 1:  Psalms 1-5; Day 2:  6-10; Day 3:  11-15, etc.)

Why read and study
the Psalms like this?

Very often, you will find similar themes  going through the 5 psalms.  There are times when the first verse of the second Psalm carries through the thought or exact theme of the last verse of the previous Psalm.  Often succeeding Psalms illuminate the preceding Psalms.

It will become a lifetime habit!
